🤝 UCLF Attends Suspect Parade at Wandegeya Police
Kampala, Uganda – Morning, October 29, 2025

Today, the crucial work of ensuring access to justice continued as a dedicated team from the Lawyers Christian Fellowship (LCF) of the UK was present at Wandegeya Police Station to observe a suspect parade.
This intervention is part of the vital work carried out by the Paralegal Advisory Department of the Uganda Community-based Livelihoods Foundation (UCLF).
The Role of Oversight
A suspect parade is a critical stage in the criminal justice process, where a witness attempts to identify a suspect from a group of individuals. Oversight from legal aid organizations and partners, like the LCF-UK team, is paramount. Their presence helps to:
- Ensure Fairness: Monitor the process to guarantee that the parade is conducted in strict compliance with established legal rules and procedures, safeguarding the rights of the suspects.
- Provide Legal First Aid: UCLF’s Paralegal Advisory services are at the frontlines, offering immediate legal assistance and education to suspects in police custody.
This collaboration highlights the strong international partnership between UCLF and LCF-UK, driven by a shared mission to enhance access to justice, accountability, and the rule of law within Uganda’s justice system.
The Paralegal Advisory Department of UCLF is committed to reducing case backlog and ensuring timely, fair justice delivery, often operating directly within key police stations like Wandegeya.
