Ag. CEO’s Message
Mrs. Suzan Kasozi Lukwago
As acting CEO, I am entirely thankful to the Lord who has led us through the year 2021/2022. We thank Him for the gift of life and his grace that he has lavished on us to be able to serve Uganda Christian Lawyers’ Fraternity especially in these times. I take this opportunity to thank the Board of Directors for the over whelming support to the secretariat. In the same realm I wish to extend my appreciation to the former CEO, Mr. John Osapiri for the great work he rendered unto UCLF.
UCLF’s visibility through the Year 2021/2022 has continued to grow through the years and we have been able to build stronger synergies aimed at fostering collaborations for achievement of UCLF’s Vision and Mission. As UCLF, we have continued to connect and build synergies with different partners. Our work wouldn’t have been possible without your support in enabling UCLF achieve its goals.
We are grateful for the existing partnerships between the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda, Uganda Youth Forum, Legal Aid Service Providers Network, the Network for Public Interest Lawyers and Inspire Synergy. These partnerships have been a leverage for us to speak up for the vulnerable in society, stand against injustice, develop the capacity of our members and staff, guarantee religious liberty and freedoms as we work together with these institutions.
The effects of covid 19 have continued to emanate though that did not deter UCLF from meeting its Vision and Mission amidst the challenges it faces.
Much as there was a reduction in funding from our international development partners, we are nevertheless grateful to the Baptist Mission Society, Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship of UK and the UCLF members for always endeavoring to support UCLF during the tough times. Surely it is only God who can reward your kindness handsomely.
The UCLF staff, volunteers and interns have worked tirelessly to make this year a success amidst the continuous existing obstacles faced in their everyday work. With such dedication and commitment, the team was able to conduct sensitization, mediation, outreaches with other organizations, legal representation, counselling, fellowships, youth conventions, CLE trainings, Arua gospel mission and the crown of it all was the fundraising dinner for the Justice House which will be a UCLF symbol of legacy.
We are graciously grateful for all the efforts and support rendered unto the Fraternity. I believe we can achieve more and further more great opportunities to meet our Vision and Mission.
Thank you all
For God and My Country.
