Transforming Lives at Naguru Remand Home: A Dual Approach of Justice and Grace

March 14, 2026

The UCLF Counseling and Access to Justice departments recently conducted a joint outreach at the Naguru Remand Home, reaching 216 teenagers (ages 13–17). Led by Ms. Dorothy Kayanja (Counseling) alongside Mr. Nelson and Jovana (Access to Justice), the team provided a vital psychosocial session focused on behavioral change and legal aid.

Naguru Remand Home houses young people facing various legal challenges, including cases of theft, robbery, defilement, and attempted murder. Understanding that true restoration requires both legal guidance and emotional support, our team worked to equip these youth with the tools needed for a better future.

Beyond the legal and psychosocial support, the heart of our mission remains the Gospel. Before the sessions began, we shared the message of Christ’s love. We are overjoyed to report that 84 teenagers gave their lives to Christ. We celebrate these new beginnings and remain committed to advocating for the “least of these” within our justice system. To God be the glory!
