💡 Building a Stronger Foundation: UCLF Concludes Key Policy Workshop
From September 25th to 26th, 2025, the UCLF Secretariat was the site of a highly productive and essential workshop focused on strengthening the organization’s internal frameworks.
The two-day session marked the “Inception and Gap Analysis” phase for three critical organizational documents:
- UCLF Risk Management Policy
- UCLF Child Protection Policy
- UCLF Human Resources Manual

Strategic Partnership for Excellence
The workshop was expertly facilitated by a dedicated external consultant, whose valuable input was made possible through the generous support of BMS (Business Management Services, or similar relevant entity) in partnership with UCLF.
This collaboration is vital, ensuring that UCLF’s foundational documents are robust, compliant, and aligned with best practices in governance and operational management.
The Goal: Analysis and Action
The Inception and Gap Analysis phase is crucial for ensuring the final policies and manual are fit for purpose. It involves:
- Inception: Defining the scope, objectives, and parameters for developing or revising each document.
- Gap Analysis: Systematically reviewing existing practices against desired standards to identify what is missing, outdated, or needs improvement.
This meticulous process guarantees that when the final documents are rolled out, they will effectively mitigate risks, safeguard vulnerable populations (especially children), and provide a clear, fair framework for all staff.
Moving Forward
UCLF extends its sincere gratitude to the external consultant for their professionalism and guidance, and to BMS for their invaluable partnership and support. This foundational work ensures that UCLF can continue its mission-driven activities with the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and operational efficiency.
Stay tuned for updates as we move into the drafting and finalization stages of these key organizational documents.
