UCLF Defends Mother of 4

October 31, 2025

Justine, a mother of 4 children was abandoned by her lawfully married to husband in 2018 and was left in an unfinished house with the heavy responsibilities of paying the children’s school fees, maintenance and all their welfare. In 2020 after the first lockdown, her husband together with his mother wanted to throw her out of the house to the streets claiming that her husband had sold their house to his mother in 2007 and now she wanted them out. She ran to all the local authorities but wasn’t helped, she resisted until her mother in law sued her for trespass and she came to our office for protection. UCLF through intervened and prevented the illegal eviction as well defended her in court against her mother in-law. She was well represented by one of our legal officers, Counsel Francis Nyakoojo. In 2023, the court gave judgement in her favour for which she cried before court out of immense joy and couldn’t stop praising UCLF for helping her attain justice. Her rights as a wife were protected and now she has a roof over her head with her young children.
