🥳 Celebrating 25 Years of Justice: UCLF Joins LDC Legal Aid Clinic Anniversary
On October 22nd, 2025, the Universal Christian Lawyers’ Fellowship (UCLF) was honored to participate in a landmark celebration: the 25th Anniversary of the Law Development Centre (LDC) Legal Aid Clinic.
The day was filled with significance, marking a quarter-century of dedicated service, legal education, and access to justice for the community.
A Day of Recognition and Outreach
UCLF joined the celebrations which centered around two main activities:
- The Anniversary March: This event provided a platform for legal professionals, students, and advocates to publicly celebrate the LDC Clinic’s long-standing contribution to Uganda’s legal landscape and highlight the importance of pro bono work.
- The Legal Aid Open Day: Held in conjunction with the anniversary, the Open Day was a crucial outreach event. It provided an opportunity for the public to directly access legal information, consultation, and assistance from various participating organizations, including UCLF.
Commitment to Legal Aid
The LDC Legal Aid Clinic has been instrumental in training future lawyers in practical skills while simultaneously offering essential services to those who cannot afford private counsel.
UCLF’s participation underscored our shared commitment to bridging the gap between the law and the public, ensuring that legal rights are accessible and understood by all segments of society. We celebrate the LDC’s long-term dedication to justice and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts in legal aid provision.
